Basketball Recap: Union Grove Drops Season-High Score on Harleton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union Grove). They were the clear victor by a 70-45 margin over the Harleton Wildcats on Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 24 point advantage.

Leading Union Grove to victory were Jace Roberts and Hudson Wightman. Roberts dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 boards, while Wightman went 10 of 13 on his way to 21 points. Wightman is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Fulmer, who posted 15 points.

Union Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November.

Union Grove's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Harleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Union Grove will head out to square off against Overton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Overton will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Union Grove surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harleton, they will venture away from home to take on Apple Springs at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
