Amherst Central pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Clarence 60-55.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's suffered a tough 76-53 defeat at the hands of Clarence on Friday.
St. Mary's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Israel Wilson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds, and Will Szablewski who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The match was Wilson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Smith, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Amherst Central's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-1. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
