Baseball Recap: St. Frances Academy Has No Trouble Against Wise

While St. Frances Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Wise Pumas on Friday as the St. Frances Academy Panthers made off with a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Hodges was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jeremiah Yates was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

St. Frances Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wise only posted an OBP of .316.

St. Frances Academy pushed their record up to 4-0-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, St. Frances Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bishop McNamara at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Wise, they will challenge Douglass at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
