The Liberty-Eylau Leopards lost against the Edgewood Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Liberty-Eylau had to suffer through a rough 72-19 loss at the hands of Edgewood. Liberty-Eylau was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Nicholson, who shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Blair McPherson, who scored 21 points along with six assists.
Liberty-Eylau has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Liberty-Eylau will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Detroit at 1:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Prairiland at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prairiland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 714th, while Edgewood is ranked 196th).
