Milford hasn't had much luck against Beaver recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beavers at 3:30 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Milford made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Sevier, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 15th.
Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kilo Tsosie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Beaver entered their tilt with Water Canyon on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 21-5. Considering the Beavers have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
David Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Beaver got a massive performance out of Bridger Blackner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Blackner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Wolffe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Milford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Milford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Beaver struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
