The Lanier Poets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to Booker T. Washington 47-41. Lanier lost against Booker T. Washington in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-35 score last time.
Booker T. Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Fitzpatrick led the charge by dropping a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. Jessica Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Lanier's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Booker T. Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Lanier will be playing at home against Percy Julian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Percy Julian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Booker T. Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Lanett at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Lanett will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
