Two dominant in Caitylyn Gibson and Laila Henderson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Homestead Broncos will look to defend their home court on Monday against the North Miami Beach Chargers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Homestead posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They blew past South Miami 59-12 on the road. With Homestead ahead 43-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Meanwhile, North Miami Beach blew past American, posting a 40-11 win on the road. The victory was just what North Miami Beach needed coming off of a 44-16 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Miami Beach to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yoshaney Cayaso, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Cayaso has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Vanejia Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight steals.
Homestead's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for North Miami Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Everything went Homestead's way against North Miami Beach in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as Homestead made off with a 40-18 win. Does Homestead have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Miami Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
