The Catoctin Cougars and the Clarksburg Coyotes will round out the year against one another at 9:00 p.m. on Friday at. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Catoctin put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clear Spring 61-20 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Catoctin has managed all season.
Kylie Perhach was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooke Williams, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Clarksburg took their game on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 60-18 victory over Northwest. Given Clarksburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Northwest is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Catoctin pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Clarksburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
