Even though the Roselle Catholic Lions scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Elizabeth Minutemen still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Elizabeth made off with a 61-60 win over Roselle Catholic. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elizabeth also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.
It was another big night for Alexandra Koon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Dynasty Chandler was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 17 rebounds and seven assists.
Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Roselle Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Elizabeth the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Weequahic at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Weequahic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Elizabeth is ranked 64th). Roselle Catholic will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Kent Place at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st.
