The Argyle Eagles had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Denton 59-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Argyle, who have now won five games by 30 points or more so far this season.
Argyle had a senior duo take command as Jake Krekeler rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry and Lane Stewart gained 101 total yards and three touchdowns. Preston Slaton was another key contributor, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Argyle's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. As for Denton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Argyle will head out on the road to face off against Creekview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Creekview comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Denton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Dallas at 7:00 p.m. Lake Dallas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denton in Texas (Lake Dallas is ranked 156th, while Denton is ranked 607th).
