It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Yucca Valley Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Wilson at home to the tune of 49-21. The win was familiar territory for Yucca Valley who now have eight in a row.
Myles Harper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 281 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Harper was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Michael Ramos jr, who punched in two rushing scores.
When it comes to explaining why Wilson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dominic Ezeonye. Despite the final result, he rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Brian Silva was another key contributor, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Yucca Valley pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Wilson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Yucca Valley will be playing at home against Buena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buena Park is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Wilson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
