She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, TAYLOR VAVRO and BROOKE LARGENT did some serious damage despite the final result: VAVRO fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-4, while LARGENT got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. Those home runs were VAVRO's first of the season. Another player making a difference was HAILEY KLAMUT, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
As for Avon Lake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-12. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Like Olmsted Falls, Avon Lake also got a great game from a two-way player: Erin Dean. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Dean posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Sammy Cracas and Carmen McMinn did most of the damage at the plate: Cracas went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while McMinn got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four RBI gave Cracas a new career-high. Briana Webster was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.
Olmsted Falls and Avon Lake are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will square off against Wadsworth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avon Lake, they will face off against Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
