The Donna Redskins will face off against the Lopez Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Donna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Donna and Edcouch-Elsa have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Redskins were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Yellowjackets. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Joaquin Gutierrez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gutierrez was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Sanchez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Domingo Sierra, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Donna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lopez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Mercedes on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lobos have posted since February 17th.
Donna now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Lopez, their victory bumped their record up to 2-20-1.
Donna might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Lopez in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
