In what's become a running theme this season, the Arapahoe Warriors gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They put the hurt on Chaparral with a sharp 54-31 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Arapahoe, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Liz Gentry was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Arapahoe's points. Another player making a difference was Gianna Smith, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Chaparral's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Reagan Lentell, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Jade Monroe who scored ten points along with two steals.
Arapahoe's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Arapahoe will head out on the road to challenge Overland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Overland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Arapahoe is ranked 16th). As for Chaparral, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against ThunderRidge at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. ThunderRidge will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Chaparral surely won't give up without a fight.
