That's the most stolen bases Gus has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexy Actis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.
St. Joseph Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Streetsboro was able to grind out a solid win over Woodridge on Friday, taking the game 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Streetsboro let Olivia Knepper and Hailey Miller run wild. Knepper scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Miller went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia DeToro, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Streetsboro now has a winning record of 3-2. As for St. Joseph Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Joseph Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Streetsboro struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
