Mountain View has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the South El Monte Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mountain View will be strutting in after a victory while South El Monte will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Rosemead scored an imposing 62 points on Wednesday, Mountain View still came out on top. Mountain View took their game against Rosemead 71-62.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, South El Monte were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 62-23 loss at the hands of Gabrielino. South El Monte has struggled against Gabrielino recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tony Aguilar, who scored six points along with two steals.
Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 4-15. As for South El Monte, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Mountain View might still be hurting after the 73-47 defeat they got from South El Monte in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mountain View was down 33-10.
