Melba is 7-0 against Compass Charter since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Melba Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Compass Charter Aviators at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Melba didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Nampa Christian, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win.
Even though Compass Charter has not done well against Marsing recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Compass Charter slipped by Marsing 55-54. The win was just what Compass Charter needed coming off of a 58-25 loss in their prior contest.
Among those leading the charge was Thore Lucas, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Horn, who scored ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Melba pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Compass Charter, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Melba strolled past Compass Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 78-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Compass Charter's Kellen Walbuck, who scored 22 points along with three steals and two blocks.
