Softball Recap: Elgin Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Elgin entered their tilt with Riverdale on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Falcons.

Melody Hicks was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Destiny Frye, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

The victory got Elgin back to even at 5-5. As for Riverdale, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Elgin has already played their next contest, a 15-5 defeat against Hardin Northern on the 28th. As for Riverdale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-2 loss against Upper Sandusky on the 25th.
