Softball Recap: Charleston Has No Trouble Against Paris

Charleston was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Paris on Wednesday. The Trojans blew past the Tigers 17-7. Considering the Trojans have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lainie Keefer was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Hunter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Charleston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Charleston's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Paris, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Charleston will face off against Mt. Zion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Paris, they will square off against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
