The Galileo Lions are taking a road trip to face off against The Bay School Breakers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galileo has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Galileo duked it out with Lowell last Thursday. The Lions lost 14-1 to the Cardinals. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Galileo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Ridley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, The Bay School waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Grizzlies 14-4. The Breakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Mak Kelly tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Milo Franklin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Won, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
Galileo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for The Bay School, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Galileo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like The Bay School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
