The Oceanside Mariners put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Belfast at home to the tune of 126-38. Oceanside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 27 points or more this season.
Oceanside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Galley led the charge by going 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 5 assists. Galley is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cohen Galley, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 assists.
Oceanside pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home. As for Belfast, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceanside will challenge Morse at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Oceanside is ranked sixth). As for Belfast, they will head out on the road to square off against Erskine Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
