The Nipomo Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Orcutt Academy Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Nipomo lost a close one when they played in Friday's first game but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed in Friday's second game was a bit more commanding. They suffered a tough 19-8 defeat at the hands of Golden West. Nipomo has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nipomo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivianne Goss, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Melania Ruelas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Orcutt Academy waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Tigers.
Lylah Garcia and Valerie Gonzales made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Garcia didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Gonzales pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (she also only allowed one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Garcia scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Gonzales scored a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Orcutt Academy let Jaylene Roybal and Jaidyn Trevino loose on the outfield. Roybal scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Trevino scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Laeney Maycotte was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
