Dunellen had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Timothy Christian. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 26-16 on April 7th.
Kasey Manna and Kaity Garcia made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Manna tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Garcia tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Manna posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. At the plate, Manna went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Garcia went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Rose Ciccolella and Savanna McCann did most of the damage at the plate: Ciccolella got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while McCann went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. McCann is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Tigue, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dunellen's record is now 12-2. As for Timothy Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dunellen will challenge North Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timothy Christian, they will square off against J.P. Stevens at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.6 runs per game on average), something Timothy Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
