The Cottonwood Colts came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Murray with points to spare, taking the game 58-43. That's another feather in the cap for Cottonwood, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cottonwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was John Rosevear out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals. Rosevear has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Oguama, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Murray lost, one person who can't be blamed is Treyce Wilson. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Nelson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Murray, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cottonwood will take on the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Murray, they will play host again and welcome the Buffaloes, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
