While Lyndhurst's victory against St. Mary wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 win over the Gaels on Monday. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but the Golden Bears were the better team in the second half.

Despite the defeat, St. Mary saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alexa Falsetta posted 18 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Falsetta is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Carly Sepp was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Lyndhurst's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for St. Mary, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyndhurst will take on Lodi at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Mary, they will face off against Bogota at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
