Even though the Kingsland Knights have not done well against the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Kingsland enjoyed a cozy 63-44 win over Lyle/Pacelli. Given Kingsland's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Lyle/Pacelli is ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jayden Brink, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Snitker, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
The victory for Kingsland keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Lyle/Pacelli, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsland will be home for the holidays to greet Southland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Southland's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. Lyle/Pacelli will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spring Grove at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
