Rochester is 8-2 against Western Beaver since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rochester Rams will look to defend their home court against the Western Beaver Golden Beavers at 7:30 p.m. Rochester is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
Even though Rochester has not done well against Union Area recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Rochester snuck past Union Area with a 53-47 victory.
Meanwhile, Western Beaver came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Cornell with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 50-35.
Western Beaver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jon Backur led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Backur has scored all season. Nathan Schwarz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Rochester has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Western Beaver, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.
Rochester took their victory against Western Beaver when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 55-32. Does Rochester have another victory up their sleeve, or will Western Beaver turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
