If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Spencer. On Friday they take on Le Mars at 7:00 PM. Spencer don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After flying high against Storm Lake two weeks ago, Spencer came back down to earth. Last Friday, Spencer were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 20-24 to Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Spencer's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Le Mars, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They took a hard 13-31 fall against Bishop Heelan Catholic.
