Heppner will square off against Stanfield at 7:00 PM on Friday. Heppner know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Stanfield like a good challenge.
Heppner might be getting used to good results now that the squad has six wins in a row. They took their game against Grant Union last Friday by a conclusive 47-14 score. Among those leading the charge for Heppner was junior Mason Lehman, who picked up 109 yards on the ground and caught passes for 75 yards. Lehman has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, Stanfield's six-game streak of losses has finally come to an end. They put a hurting on Riverside to the tune of 53-0. That looming 53-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Stanfield yet.
Their wins bumped Heppner to 6-2 and Stanfield to 1-6. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
