Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angela Carroll, who had 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaysia Gude, who had 11 points.
Monterey's record is now 12-1. As for La Vega, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monterey will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. Monterey knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 contests -- so hopefully Coronado likes a good challenge. As for La Vega, they will venture away from home to challenge Liberty at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
