Baseball Recap: Odessa Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Odessa and Clinton meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 9-0 shutout. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 7th (when they won 11-1).

Odessa's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Clinton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odessa will head out to take on Harrisonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Clinton, they will face off against Center at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
