New Bloomfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Fuhriman led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Fuhriman scored 15 or more points. Andrew Fouch was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Eugene faced Hallsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eugene strolled past Hallsville with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 80-65. The win was just business as usual for Eugene, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
New Bloomfield's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Eugene, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
New Bloomfield took a serious blow against Eugene in their previous matchup back in February, falling 76-12. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point New Bloomfield was down 58-4.
