Addison Carr put in work no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Carr was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Gabby Mahanes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Philip Barbour, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Philip Barbour hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Elkins struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
