On Friday, it was close, but Tippecanoe Valley sidestepped Morgan Township for a 47-44 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tippecanoe Valley.
Tippecanoe Valley found their leader in underclassman Stephen Akase, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Akase has scored at least 25% of Tippecanoe Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Johnson, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Morgan Township still got an impressive performance from Keagen Holder, who scored 15 points. The match was Holder's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Hayden Grieger was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win got Tippecanoe Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Morgan Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tippecanoe Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Morgan Township and North Judson-San Pierre will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Judson-San Pierre presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morgan Township in Indiana (North Judson-San Pierre is ranked 59th, while Morgan Township is ranked 234th).
