Pecina is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lorena Cerda, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Santa Rosa's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Rio Hondo 66-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Santa Rosa has suffered yet this season.
Progreso has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
Progreso didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Santa Rosa in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win.
