The Golden Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  win over the Irish. The  victory was familiar territory for the Golden Bears, who have now won three  contests in a row.
 Oak Glen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-23,  25-14.
 Averi Martin paced Oak Glen's offense, picking up ten kills. Martin got some help from  Mikalyn Balch and her 22 assists. Finally,  Brayley Lash and  Mattie Carney kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.
 When it comes to explaining why Charleston Catholic lost, don't look at  Ali Wilcox. Despite the final result, she  had 13  digs and one assist.
Oak Glen's win bumped their record up to 23-10-3. As for Charleston Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 32-9-1.
