International Prep at Grover put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Burgard Bulldogs as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Presidents' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ivan Cuenca Dupuy and Jeremiah Serrano were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Cuenca Dupuy struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Serrano pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cuenca Dupuy has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Cuenca Dupuy got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Serrano went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Manuel Velazquez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Fuentes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
International Prep at Grover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
