The Stadium Tigers will square off against the Auburn Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Auburn took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Stadium, who comes in off a win.
Stadium took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Kentridge with a sharp 11-5 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Lily Hart was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Hart was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, London Kim and Kate Erickson did most of the damage at the plate: Kim scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Erickson went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Erickson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jaynie Galindo, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Tahoma, falling 17-0.
Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Stadium, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Auburn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stadium hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Auburn, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Stadium's hitters?
Stadium took their win against Auburn when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 23-1 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
