The Dwyer Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Jupiter Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Dwyer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Dwyer took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against John Carroll Catholic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers skirted past the Rams 8-7.
Dom Pecoraro made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pecoraro was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Tyler Thrush was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Owen Hewitt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Dwyer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, while Jupiter put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Royal Palm Beach. The Warriors blew past the Wildcats 14-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.
Jack Wahl-Cox looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabe Graulau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Andrew Abad was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Dwyer is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Jupiter, their record is now 15-7.
Dwyer was able to grind out a solid win over Jupiter in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
