Two dominant backs in Stockton Mitchek and Gabe Kechter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Eads Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Idalia Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Eads never let their opponents score. They breezed by Miami-Yoder at home to the tune of 45-0. The win made it back-to-back wins for Eads.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Idalia at home against Hi-Plains on Friday as the team secured a 73-6 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-6.
Idalia found their leader in underclassman Kechter, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Terrell , who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Eads to 5-4 and Idalia to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Eads against Idalia in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 84-28 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Idalia's Kye Towns, who rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Eads to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
