Southwestern recap October 29, 2013
Belleville West's Brian Hill rumbled for the longest rushing play in Southwestern this season in his game against Alton last week. Hill ran for 83 yards on the play and finished with 177 on the day as his team bested the Redbirds.
Edwardsville added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating East, 20-0. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Camden Bauer threw for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 28-36 with 1 interception.
Bauer put up the best numbers through the air as O'Fallon beat Granite City. Bauer's favorite target this week was Patrick Riley, who caught 17 passes for 192 yards.
On the heels of Bauer and Kentrail Moran, the Panthers have had great success on offense. Bauer is tops in the league in passing with 1,888 yards, while Moran has rushed for 1,080 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is East St. Louis's Jeff Thomas, with 691 yards on 39 catches.
O'Fallon's Bauer is within 112 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Neuqua Valley.
The Flyers took down Collinsville 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gregory Taylor ran for 146 yards and caught 3 passes for 39 yards in the win.
