The Cristo Rey Jesuit Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 51-9 victory over Bob Hope. That 42 points margin sets a new team best for Cristo Rey Jesuit this season.
Zakiya Umstead was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 steals. Another player making a difference was Kelis Pickett, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Despite the defeat, Bob Hope saw an underclassman step up: Joselynn Estrada scored eight points.
The victory got Cristo Rey Jesuit back to even at 4-4-1. As for Bob Hope, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Harmony School of Innovation the next time they take the court. Bob Hope will head out to face Harmony School of Innovation at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cristo Rey Jesuit will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
