After a string of five wins, the Princeton Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to South Knox 66-62. While losing is never fun, Princeton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while South Knox is ranked 20th).
Princeton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Azaryon Wesley, who scored 21 points. The match was Wesley's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Smith, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for South Knox, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will challenge Evansville Mater Dei at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for South Knox, they will head out on the road to face off against Castle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Castle will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
