The Kim/Branson Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against La Veta as Kim/Branson made off with a 68-46 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Kim/Branson as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Kim/Branson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolter Cranson, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cranson has scored all season. Brock Doherty was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Kim/Branson's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for La Veta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kim/Branson will take on Manzanola at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Manzanola is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. La Veta won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sargent at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Sargent presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Veta in Colorado (Sargent is ranked 79th, while La Veta is ranked 278th).
