Basketball Recap: Kenston Sets Scoring Season-High Against South

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kenston). They breezed by the South Rebels to the tune of 64-34 on Saturday. With the Bombers ahead 37-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Kenston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Cicek, who posted 13 points and six assists. That's the most assists Cicek has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariela Macias, who made all 5 shots she took for 12 points and three steals.

Cicek wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Kenston was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Kenston is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenston will challenge Chardon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. South has already played their next matchup (against North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
