Softball Recap: Arroyo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Marshall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arroyo). They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Marshall Eagles on Wednesday. Considering the Knights have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leslie Saldivar was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Morales, who got on base in five of her eight plate appearances.

Arroyo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Arroyo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Marshall, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Arroyo has already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against South El Monte on the 11th. As for Marshall, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 defeat against El Monte on the 10th.
