The Paintsville Tigers and the Meade County Green Waves will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Paintsville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Paintsville pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Danville Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Paintsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Danville Christian Academy is ranked 26th).
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Meade County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 59-42 bruising from Cooper.
The losing side was boosted by Paige Medley, who scored 16 points. She scored a full 38.1% of Meade County's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Miranda French, who scored seven points.
Paintsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Meade County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
