Baseball Recap: Frankton Takes a Loss

If Frankton was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Daleville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 12-7 to the Eastbrook Panthers on Thursday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Caine Oakley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Frankton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cal Osborne, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Frankton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Eastbrook, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Coming up, Frankton will face off against Cowan at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blackhawks have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Eastbrook, they will be taking part in a tournament against Oak Hill at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
