The Ceres Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ceres will be strutting in after a win while Hilmar will be coming in after a defeat.
Ceres has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 68-41 win over Central Valley on the road. The victory was just what Ceres needed coming off of a 63-43 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ceres to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carey Mastin, who scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals. Mastin set a new season high mark in assists with six. Another player making a difference was Gurman Dhaliwal, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hilmar was beaten by Carmel 85-44 on Saturday. Hilmar has struggled against Carmel recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jason Moniz, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Silveira, who scored 12 points.
Ceres now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hilmar, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Ceres hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 60.6 points per game. It's a different story for Hilmar, though, as they've been averaging only 42 points per game. The only thing between Ceres and another offensive beatdown is Hilmar. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Ceres beat Hilmar 48-37 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Does Ceres have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hilmar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
