Ardrey Kell has gone a perfect 10-0 against Berry recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ardrey Kell Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Berry Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. Ardrey Kell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Ardrey Kell after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Providence. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Ardrey Kell got a good showing from Michael Manus, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Manus has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Preston Rivers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Bria, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Berry lost 20-8 to Ardrey Kell on Tuesday.
Xavier Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyler Davis, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Ardrey Kell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Berry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ardrey Kell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .465. However, it's not like Berry struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
